| EOV and EOSL announcements for upCast 5.x and downCast 1.x | |

infinity-loop announces that upCast 5.x and downCast 1.x will enter End of Version (EOV) state on February 1st, 2009. This means that these product versions will no longer receive new features and infinity-loop does no longer accept purchase orders for these product versions after 2009-02-01. Important bug fixes will still occur until end of service life (see below). infinity-loop announces that upCast 5.x and downCast 1.x will have reached their End of Service Life at the end of 12/2009. After that date, no further general support for these versions will be available from infinity-loop. The mentioned product versions have been replaced by the single, actively developed product upCast RT, which covers the functionality of both former products, upCast 5.x and downCast 1.x, extended by many improvements and new features. Unfortunately, we have become aware of a few issues with our latest releases of upCast and its counterpart, downCast. We have decided to temporarily pull the new version until these issues have been fixed. They include wrong URL handling, a downCast application issue on Mac OS X and quoting issues of '>' in XML export documents. We recommend to not use versions of upCast newer than version 5.3.2. We recommend to not use versions of downCast newer than version 1.6.2.
We're working hard at fixing those issues and will release them as soon as possible.
