About infinity-loop

Founded in 1997 as a spin-off from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) as Hermann & Roth, Diplominformatiker GbR, infinity-loop GmbH specializes in document conversion to and from structured markup languages, especially XML. Both founders (Dr. Stefan Hermann and Christian Roth) were working since 1995 as research assistants at the Chair of Prof. J. Schlichter for Applied Informatics — Distributed Systems. There is still a close cooperation between both parties that brings together research and business requirements.

Starting initial design and development in early 1999, infinity-loop GmbH has been constantly improving its main product line, upCast. With over 10,000 installations worldwide since its official debut in April 2000, upCast sets an impressive track record in spite of being a rather specific type of application. In 2003, we added the new product line downCast to our product portfolio.

Though being a young company, infinity-loop GmbH can already rely on strong and inspiring business contacts in various fields like technical documentation departments, print media or electronic publishing companies.

Our Philosophy

Our goal is delivering excellence based on competence. We'll never be the "we-know-and-do-everything" type of company, but instead concentrate on document conversion and related issues – that is, on what we do best. Our experience covers the conversion of legacy documents to the preparation and output of structured (XML-/SGML-) documents into different media.

The main focus, however, lies on you, our customer. Satisfaction is not a word we put here because you wanted to read it, and Support is not just a section on our website. When we work with you on your specific document processing requirements, you'll be getting competent, to-the-point and honest advice as well as carefully planned, selected and implemented solutions that are best for you (and not necessarily us) – period.
